DJ Dave Pellot
The client asked for a logo that would be able to describe the ‘DJ’ as simply as possible. The two concepts involve using a turntable ‘tone-arm’, the apparatus that connects the vinyl record to the intricate electronics of a turntable. The first concept, a straight tone-arm, is specifically used by the hip-hop DJ, as it creates less wear & tear on vinyl, when scratching a record. The second, a curved tone-arm, is widely accepted as the normal, found on the industry standard Technics-1200. Both designs simply use the idea of the tone-arm, and connect to the arm of the ‘d’ or ‘p’ (depending on which way you hold the card), in a simple Helvetica font.
