The Hamilhoven Wedding
A design collaborative celebrating an engagement party of two friends and fellow architects-artists, Natalie Hamilton and Jeff Broekhoven.
Collaborating with fellow designer, John Zeien, we created a small logo-esque design mixing feminine and masculine imagery taken from both designers’ photography collection. The term ‘Hamilhoven’ is an obvious mixture between the two names, rather than put the emphasis on the man’s name in typical fashion, we decided to pay respect to both parties and include the now popular trend of whimsically combining both names.
The original quote, by Shakespeare, read,
‘I’ll follow you,
and make a heaven out of hell.
To die by the hand,
I love so well.’
This was later changed to,
‘I’ll follow you,
and make a heaven out of hell,
and I’ll guide by the hand,
of whom I love so well.’
because of the obvious implications of death by the hand of a lover.
