John Maniscalco, Architecture
While employed as an architect with John Maniscalco Architecture, I was given the opportunity to redesign the image package, including signage and all business peripherals for the firm. The client was not looking to introduce a graphic logo to his firm, rather, he wanted to focus on a simple text redesign, using his name as the identity package. Using a simple font, Helvetica, I attempted to be playful with the text-only solution by shifting the logo past the edge of the pixel parameters, giving it a more contemporary ’super graphic’ feel. After the solution was accepted and printed, it was widely agreed that the logo contained one or more aspects of design sensibilities seen in the world of ‘NASCAR,’ much to my chagrin.
